FAQS

Ask Me Anything

It’s natural to have tons of questions when considering leaving your beloved pet with a stranger for the first time. To help you, I’ve provided a list of some of the frequently asked questions I'm asked below.

WHERE WILL MY PET BE KEPT

All of our Guests are housed in our bespoke lodge in our garden made specifically for looking after them. They each have a run which meets RWAF size standards. In the warmer months when someone is home (which is the vast majority of the time) the Lodge front door will be open to allow ventilation and a breeze, we have a Fly door which will help prevent flies coming into the lodge. At night time and when no one is home  the lodge will be locked securely and only accessible with a key.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO PREVENT THE SPRED OF DISEASES

Cleanliness and preventing illnesses for our guests is a top priority at Hutch, all guests MUST have upto date vaccinations, if you fail to prove this either when your pet arrives or prior to arrival, your pet will not be allowed to stay with us and a cost may be incurred to yourself.

All elements of each home are fully washable. With a material bed which is washed inbetween each visit. Water and food bowls are cleaned daily and also sterilised before a new guest arrives. Flooring and litter trays are cleaned daily and sterilised before new guests arrives.

Fly Strike - throughout the duration of our guests visit we will check for any signs of this. We do everything in our power to help protect against it. If we notice anything we will immediately make you aware and we will administer Rearguard at a cost to yourself of £5. Each guest will also be checked for signs of flystrike upon arrival here.

Hands are antibacterial washed before touching each guest.

No guests from a different household will ever be able to mix with each other.

This is quite a vast subject so if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to email, text or call me to ask.

WILL MY PET GET TIME OUTSIDE*

Because this is our home and us having other pets in the household we have a grass garden, which obviously we can not disinfect or clean.

We do have a run available which is moveable to ensure fresh grass to nibble. It is fully protected from birds and cats so we can offer your pet outside time depending on weather and if you are happy with it. Hutch will take no responsibility should your pet get sick or injured either during or after your stay with us.

WHAT OTHER PETS DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD

We have Roy who is a lovely Blanc de Hotot who was born is 2018. Roy was a house rabbit until we moved to Cudworth in 2019 when we could make him a safe secure and warm outside area.

Nelly is our golden retriver rescue from bosnia, we got her in 2018 and she was 1 year old. Her and roy love each other a lot and when Roy was living in the house you could find them playing or cleaning each other regularly.

Ablie is a mini schnauzer who we recused from wales as a puppy in Dec 2020, the breeder had given him up due to him and 3 other litter mates being blind. Albie enjoys helping me feed and clean out Roy every day, mainly in the hope of snaffling any food i may drop.

WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT

Right now we only accept cash or Bank transfer.

We understand that not everyone works a 9-5 job and organising something like this can be tricky, in light of this we do not have any specific times or days. Once your initial deposit is received we will make sure we find something that suits both of us.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT

Yes, a non refundable deposit of £20 is required to secure your booking. Full payment for your pets stay will be required either before or at check in. Full T's and C's can be found on the T's and C's page

MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET WILL YOU TAKE THEM?

WHAT ARE PICK UP AND DROP OFF TIMES

Should your pet need medical attention they will be taken to Abbey Vets in Cudworth as soon as possible. We will contact you and make you aware of the situation, however we will always do what we believe is best for our guest at the time. If this means an out of hours visit then that is what must be done. All recipets will be kept and you will be billed on collection of your pet.
